I’m designing a footwear for the consumers of Whole Foods Market, who are all about health and eco-friendliness.  The piece of footwear will be modular, allowing the replacement of parts, hence reducing on our carbon footprint.  Since its modular, it is also customizable!

Lunar-Resonant Streetlights


Sensing available moonlight, it responds to the moon cycles by dimming or brightening, providing just enough light for visibility.  Reducing energy consumption and light pollution.  Designed by Civil Twilight Design Collective.

Organic Battery.

I was reading some design blog and stumbled upon this.  A lemon powered light!  Yes, the light gets its charge from the acidity in the lemon.  I don’t know about you guys but this is definitely something new for me.

Abstract

Our project aims to design a system that connects user’s home behaviours to the cultivation of a garden shared by a community.  The system creates environmental awareness in the user through suggestions of sustainable behaviours that is translated into the satisfaction of the garden needs.  A reward system in terms of harvest is put in place to stimulate the community towards a sustainable lifestyle.
