Nokia Booklet 3G, a brand new breed of portable device for Nokia, is set to nudge the concept of mobility a’lil bit further.  The new Nokia Booklet 3G will be a Windows-based machine, supported by an efficient Intel Atom processor that promises the performance of a full-function PC.  It boasts a battery life that stretches up to 12 hours, a glass 10.1-inch HD display, and aluminum shell, which measures in at just 2cm thin and tips the scales at around a kilogram to ensure it’s extremely portable.  The Booklet 3G has been designed with fast downloading and uploading front of mind – it’s 3G/HSPA ready for rapid mobile broadband anywhere-access on the move.  Wi-Fi has also been wedged into it’s slim body.  Plus, it supports hot-swappable SIM card functionality.

Honestly I liked the fact how Nokia manage to maintain the design language they have with their mobile phones.  Oh by the way, nicely done intro video after the jump.

In 7 days INSA ran the city of east London, painting 35 pieces on route of Charlie Dark’s map for The IAM1 Journey Nike Sportswear project. Produced by Protein and documented by INSA’s long time collaborator, photographer Ethel, each of the 35 hand painted pieces form one of the centre pieces of INSAs major London solo show for 2009. This IAM1 Journey animation will be deconstructed within the “Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places” show with behind-the-scenes processes alongside the original painted objects that make up the individual frames.

… the re-Engineered Air Max 1 that flys!

The new Air Maxim 1 from Nike Sportswear features an infusion of modern Nike technology, Flywire-laced upper with Phylon midsole and Transpan toebox. The best part is that the sneaker looks very similar to the OG Air Max 1, one of my favourite Nike silhouettes.

RGB MusicLab is created by digital artist Kenji Kojima.  He created a application that converts RGB values of an image to chromatic scale sounds.  It reads the RGB values of each pixels from the top left to the bottom right of an image.  One pixel makes a harmony of three note of RGB values, and the length of the notes are determined by the brightness of the pixel.  Pure black (R=0, G=0, B=0), produces no sound.

So I was scrolling thru Ubik’s blog (the guys I blogged about in my previous post), and I found this amazing site.  Essentially you just gotta feed the site with a YouTube link and watch incredible motion art unfolds before you.  Visual ‘chaos’ is something I like to feast my eyes upon, to me complexity can be sexy.  An iPhone is a product that is simple, yet visually appealing.  If you place a thousand iPhones together, each running a different application, now that is a beautiful sight!

littleBits is like Lego blocks, for electronics.  It is a library of circuit boards that simply connects via magnets.  All logic and circuitry is pre-engineered, hence you don’t need to be and electronic geek to play with these.  I see this as another quick prototyping tool for artists and designers, just like the Arduino.  And yes, it is opensource!
