Dune 4.0 is an installation by Studio Roosegaarde. It is an interactive landscape which reacts on the behavior of people. This hybrid of nature and technology exists out of large amounts of fibers which are brightened according to the sounds and motion of passing visitors.
Dune 4.0 investigates nature in a futuristic relation with urban space by means of looking, walking and interacting.
Dune 4.0 will be exhibited at the Triennale di Milano on the 29th September 2008. (more…)

This is the first of one of them ideas swimming in my head. They are possible concepts that I’ve been thinking about.
So first up …

Light is a word that means illumination, something that makes vision possible. It is also a verb that is usually associated with weight. So BLight is a light that gets lighter, when it gets brighter. The brightness is differentiated by sensing human presence in the proximity. BLight starts with a soft interval glow. As it sense human presence, it gets brighter and starts to rise up slowly.
Well this could be an interesting idea to develop on. I’m still exploring how I can inject a little bit more behavioral characteristics or humour into it.

So this week was the official kick-off of the Final Thesis at Domus Academy, MA I-Design. The topic which I’ve decided to investigate and work on is the topic of “LIGHT EMITTING DESIGNS” aka LEDs.
Essentially we are required to design an interactive light piece. This blog will serve as a medium for me to archive and share my research and works-in-progress as I develop my Master Thesis.
Of course, comments are welcome. Cheeeeeeers!
