Dune 4.0 is an installation by Studio Roosegaarde. It is an interactive landscape which reacts on the behavior of people. This hybrid of nature and technology exists out of large amounts of fibers which are brightened according to the sounds and motion of passing visitors.
Dune 4.0 investigates nature in a futuristic relation with urban space by means of looking, walking and interacting.
Dune 4.0 will be exhibited at the Triennale di Milano on the 29th September 2008. (more…)

Designed by Yves Behar. The Morpheus Chandelier is a ten-foot diameter and 16,000 crystals light sculpture that is possible to be reshaped through the use of servo-motors and lead cables applying pressure to a flexible spring steel assembly. Six motors arranged in a star configuration are attached to six points on the perimeter that pull to create the shape of the chandelier.

This is the first of one of them ideas swimming in my head. They are possible concepts that I’ve been thinking about.
So first up …

Light is a word that means illumination, something that makes vision possible. It is also a verb that is usually associated with weight. So BLight is a light that gets lighter, when it gets brighter. The brightness is differentiated by sensing human presence in the proximity. BLight starts with a soft interval glow. As it sense human presence, it gets brighter and starts to rise up slowly.
Well this could be an interesting idea to develop on. I’m still exploring how I can inject a little bit more behavioral characteristics or humour into it.
